Today is Isaiah's first day of school. He is officially a 4th grader! I think I'm the one who gets more nervous than he does during his first days of school. Isaiah is really growing up fast, and I just have to accept that now. This is his first time having a male teacher, so no more "nicey nicey nurturing" female teachers, and just down to business! I can tell that his teacher wasn't into the whole chatty thing and wanted to get the kids off and ready for the day. So I let Isaiah be. He didn't even want me there waiting with him until the bell rang. But I still stayed anyway, and then I watched him walk upstairs to his class waving goodbye. Usually, I take a whole bunch of pictures on his first day...but not this time.
Maybe I'm much more dramatic this year because I'm 30 weeks pregnant. LOL
This happens to me every single night. I try to get to bed early, but I end up tossing and turning and going to the bathroom at least 5 times throughout the night. I don't get to bed until about 2am!!! My belly is getting bigger and the baby is kicking stronger as I try to sleep. Changing positions from left to right seem like a workout and it leaves me breathless. My little "fortress" of pillows aren't helping me at all either because they end up on the floor or at the end of the bed. Poor Jose and Isaiah have to deal with my snoring that I have to sleep alone just so I can have my space and so that they can get a good night's sleep.
Oh, just two more months of this and we'll finally get to meet our little baby boy. And I could finally get some real sleep! Hmm, on second thought, maybe not. But at least I won't be woken up by kicking in my belly...I'll just be woken up by a crying and hungry baby! =)
I know this is silly, but I just had to post these or I'll never know how drastic my diaper cakes have evolved over the years. Unfortunately, I never took a picture of my very FIRST diaper cake that I made for my cousin, Fe. It was for her baby shower for her first daughter. Eventually, I'll ask her for the pic and just add it on here.
For now, I'll start with my second diaper cake that I made for my Uncle John and Auntie Beth's baby shower in 2004, and conclude with my most recent diaper cake which was for my cousin Marysol's baby shower just last week.
I had fun making this one! The whole diaper cake is frosted with receiving blankets. I also staggered the flowers diagonally instead of just straight in a line. And you can't really see but I tried to make roses on the top tier with baby washcloths. It didn't look so pretty so I covered it with the flower. But I love the print and colors of the blankets!
Now we're getting into "square diaper cake" territory! Each diaper is folded in half and connected to another diaper folded in half. Still time-consuming like the "rolled diaper cake" style..but much more neater. I think I added too much crinkled paper in this cake. Still working out the kinks here!
Hello Blog World!!!
I guess I had to wait for the perfect time to post, so it might as well be during my third trimester. Even if nobody ever reads my blogs, I find this to be a good therapeutic outlet for me as I wait for the baby to finally be born.
We are expecting a little boy on October 31! What an exciting date if the baby is actually born on that day, right?
Looking back, Jose and I went through some crazy "scares" with the baby in the first trimester - stuff that I don't even like thinking about because it puts me in a sad and depressed state-of-mind. I'm just so thankful to God that everything is right on track with the baby and that we are more than halfway there to the finish line! Who will this little baby boy look like? I can't wait!
Now that the wedding hype is over, it's time to get into "baby mode". It's crazy how much you can be so consumed with wedding planning for a whole year and then switch gears to planning, or should I say "nesting" for a baby the following year! No more wedding reality shows on TLC, because now it's all about the baby reality shows - followed by the occasional crying and hormonal rages! haha! Only the moms out there will truly understand what I mean.
As Isaiah prepares to start 4th grade next week, he's got school and the new baby on his mind. He is VERY excited to become a kuya (b ig brother)for the first time. We're all excited, but I'm a little bit scared. Why? Because it's been 9 years for me and I'm entering this territory as if I'm a first-time mom again. Although, one thing I'll NEVER forget are the labor and delivery pains, the epidural and the pushing!!! I'll spare you on the details because we don't need to read about that. I don't want to gross anyone out! LOL
I'll try to post some pictures of my preggo self soon. Only two more months to go and we finally get to meet this little boy who's kicking me and keeping me up all night!!!!
